| Shortly after arrival at Miramar Laguna Beach, each of our guests receives a comprehensive nutritional assessment/consultation with our registered dietitian. An individualized nutrition program is developed and implemented during the guest’s stay with us.
Integral to the emphasis we place on proper nutrition are the fresh, balanced, and healthful meals prepared each day, in our kitchen, by our professional chefs. Gourmet foods of the highest quality and presentation, with provisions specific dietary requirements, are served throughout the day. Fresh fruits, vegetables, juices and other healthy snacks are always available, as we maintain an ‘open kitchen’ policy. Many of our guests find comfort and enjoyment preparing and cooking in our kitchen, or learning to do so along side our chefs.
Exercise and Conditioning
Exercise is another integral component of well being. As physical deterioration and neglect are often associated with chemical addiction, it is a welcome change and boost to self-esteem to feel strong again and confident in the renewed, healthy condition of our bodies. Our personal trainer conducts multiple physical conditioning sessions each week for guests who choose to participate. Individual exercise plans may also be developed and implemented, if desired.
Massage
Massage provides tremendous physical, mental and other benefits. Not only does it soothe and relax the muscles and tissues, it stimulates circulation in many body systems. The prolonged flow of drugs through the body’s blood stream leaves deposits of toxins and other unhealthy substances that can remain lodged in the muscle and fatty tissues. Massage therapy serves to help releasing those toxins, resulting in immediate sensory improvement, as well as in a cleansing of the tissues. Additionally, massage creates a renewed and heightened ‘connection’ to the body; one that has may have been absent as a result of chemical addiction. Our guests are provided a variety of appropriate massage each week.
Yoga, Pilates and Strength Training
With proven healing benefits, focusing on the unification of ‘mind, body, and spirit,’ Yoga is an exceptional discipline and particularly beneficial to recovery. Yoga sessions, as well as Pilates and other strength building sessions are conducted regularly by our professional instructor, both on site, as well as at the beach.
