Testimonials

The small size of the program and the ratio of staff to clients made for an intimate setting where my recovery could really happen. The setting allowed me as an individual to open up emotionally and feel comfortable about doing so. Being able to customize my treatment, based on my specific needs, played a huge role in the progress I was able to make in my recovery, as well as a person.

Drug Rehab Programs

Choosing the right drug rehab program for yourself or a loved one is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. Unfortunately, however, most people don't know what they should be looking for in a quality drug rehab program. Not all drug rehab centers are the same. Indeed, rehab centers differ greatly in terms of program options, quality and number of staff, credentials, cost and effectiveness.

When investigating a drug rehab program, you need to ask the right questions and you must receive clear answers to those questions, regarding drug rehab.

Here are a few important questions to ask regarding drug rehab programs, including prescription drug abuse programs:

Does the drug rehab center offer a variety of treatment programs?

Addiction to alcohol and drugs is a disease. As such, it progresses through predictable stages. You need a trained health professional, preferably a doctor who specializes in addiction medicine, to accurately diagnose the problem and prescribe the most effective and most appropriate treatment.

Thus, a good drug rehab center will offer a variety of addiction treatment programs tailored to meet individual needs. Such programs might include inpatient care, residential care, outpatient care and/or short-stay treatment options.

The differenct between Inpatient drug rehab and Residential drug rehab is that inpatient addiction treatment is provided in a licensed hospital setting. Residential drug treatment programs do not usually meet the same standards of medical care.

" How much does drug rehab treatment cost?"

"How much will it cost?"

is often one the first question drug rehab treatment centers are asked.

The answer to this question might come back in a number of different formats. You need to establish what is included in the price you are quoted. What will the treatment center add on to your bill as a fee-for-service program as treatment progresses? What services will your health insurance cover? It can be extremely difficult to compare prices if you simply ask one question: "How much will it cost?"

Remember: The price of treatment is only meaningful when taken in the context of the quality and performance of the rehab center.

How much family involvement and therapy is provided in the drug rehab program?

Drug abuse and alcohol addiction affects the whole family and not just the addict. Often, family members don’t realize how deeply affected they have been by their loved one’s chemical dependency. Family involvement is a crucial component of successful recovery.

Drug rehab centers vary greatly in both the degree and quality of the family involvement opportunities they offer. Some centers offer little more than a few lectures for families. Others offer fully-integrated family therapy as part of the addict’s treatment. Be sure to ask if the center devotes time to family programs and if group therapy is included in the treatment being offered.

Does treatment include a quality continuing-care program?

Unfortunately, there is no quick fix for the disease of addiction. True recovery is a gradual, ongoing process. The skills and tools an addict learns during their intensive treatment must be integrated into their everyday life in order to ensure success. That takes time.

Some drug rehab treatment programs only offer a follow-up program but in one location. That can be inconvenient and impede successful continuing care.

A drug rehab treatment program must include a quality continuing-care program to support and monitor the addict’s recovery.
