Gender Separate

Treatment outcome studies evidence that men and women are better able to heal from addictive behaviors, when they are treated in gender separate environments. Because of that, at Miramar we provide gender separate treatment so that our male and female clients have every advantage to heal with the least amount of distraction.

Men and women differ in obvious and not so obvious ways both physiologically, psychologically, socially, and spiritually, all of which affect the way they process and heal, respectively. Men are typically supported by family, friends, and those in their work place when seeking treatment. Women, on the other hand, often do not receive such support, as they have typically have family/children, professional and/or other responsibilities that make getting treatment challenging. Women also tend to exhibit lower levels of self-esteem and higher levels of depression than do men.

As a result, we customize our gender based programs to address those and many other distinctive male Vs female issues. What results is a very supportive, safe and comfortable environment, wherein healing occurs without the anxieties, distractions, or most importantly, without the triggers that have so commonly lead to the addictive behavior in the first place.
