Testimonials

I knew I wanted a program where, as a Christian, I could undergo treatment with a Christ-centered focus. It was very important to me to participate in the Rick Warren recovery activities, as well as utilizing the other Christian recovery resources that you provided - I thank you for that . . . all of it was very rewarding to me.

Hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic opioid, similar in structure to codeine. It is an oral narcotic analgesic (pain blocker) and antitussive. Hydrocodone is commonly available in tablet, capsule and liquid syrup form. As a narcotic, it relieves pain by binding to opioid receptors in the Central Nervous System, thus blocking communication between nerves. When taken with alcohol, Hydrocodone may cause drowsiness.

Effects of Hydrocodone Abuse on the Body

Hydrocodone (single entity) is a Schedule II drug - high potential for addiction and legally available by prescription only. It is a strong narcotic pain reliever, similar in its pain relieving effects to morphine and heroin. Hydrocodone can be habit forming and lead to psychological and physical addiction. Tolerance to this drug can increase very rapidly if abused. Addicts receive a euphoric 'high' when consuming higher than recommended doses of Hydrocodone containing drugs; however, the amount of drug required to achieve said 'high' must be increased, rapidly, from the outset of abuse, as a result of the rapid tolerance that the abuser develops to the drug. Symptoms of Hydrocodone abuse/over dosage include respiratory depression, extreme somnolence (drowsiness), coma, stupor, clammy skin, bradycardia (decreased heart rate) and hypotension. Severe overdose may lead to circulatory collapse, cardiac arrest, and death.

Side Effects of Hydrocodone Ingestion

Nausea, constipation and lightheadedness are reported side effects.

Hydrocodone Detox and Abuse Rehabilitation

Hydrocodone detox is critical, prior to commencing rehabilitation for hydrocodone abuse. Long-term hydrocodone use should not be abruptly discontinued, except under the auspices of a capable, monitoring physician. Withdrawal symptoms can include nausea, headaches, muscle pain, fever, and insomnia, among others. However, under the care of an experienced physician, withdrawal symptoms and detoxification time can be greatly minimized.

At Miramar Residential Addiction Treatment women are provided physician assisted and monitored detoxification, as well as comprehensive drug rehabilitation center in Laguna Beach and Newport Beach, California.
