Unlike the common drug and alcohol treatment program, our primary modality of treatment is the 'therapeutic model'. The Therapeutic Model is based on individual and small group therapy, wherein clients are able to uncover and address the underlying, often latent, issues that commonly manifest themselves in addictive behavior. These therapy sessions are approximately 1 hour in duration and are conducted by our Program Psychologist in a completely confidential, safe and controlled setting. Small group therapy is also facilitated by our Program Psychologist. Group therapy is also very productive in resolving issues.

In addition to the 'Therapeutic Model' we utilize an 'Addiction Model' in our drug and alcohol treatment program. Through this mode of treatment, our Certified Addiction Counselors conduct individual, as well as small group counseling and education sessions, through which an architecture or framework for managing addictive behavior is built. Clients receive tools and learn skills to manage stressors and triggers that will present themselves, once the client returns to his/her post-treatment living environment. Our Addiction Counselors also provide a comprehensive after-care discharge plan that includes numerous directives and resources to insure success and sobriety for the client. primary differentiating We provide extensive assessment of clients, primary addiction treatment and detoxification, and family/loved one therapy.

In addition to the these two treatment modes, we provide numerous adjunctive treatment services, designed to strengthen the mind, body, and spirit at our drug and alcohol treatment program. These services include: acupuncture, massage, art/pet therapy, experiential therapy, meditation/breathing/yoga activities, among others.

Drug and Alcohol Treatment Program Services Sequence

Detoxification Assessment

Upon admission to the program, each client undergoes a detoxification assessment to determine if detoxification is warranted. This evaluation is conducted by our Program Psychiatrist and Program Nurse. If detoxification is necessary, a protocol is immediately initiated. Miramar Recovery is licensed by the State for on-site detoxification, which allows our clients to detoxify in the same room that they will be in for the duration of their treatment, which provides a seamless, continuity of care, and allows treatment to commence, during the detoxification period, thus increasing actual treatment time.

Psychiatric Evaluation

Once stabilization occurs, our Program Psychiatrist conducts a comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation on each of our patients. This evaluation is critical to understanding any undiagnosed conditions and/or for medication management.

Biological-Psychological-Social Evaluation

Concurrent with the Psychiatric Evaluation, each clients undergoes a full bio-psych-social evaluation with our Program Psychologist, as well.

Addiction Assessment

Following the psychiatric evaluations, each clients undergoes an Addiction Assessment, to gain a clear, comprehensive understanding of his/her addiction behaviors and history.

Treatment Plan development and Implementation

The results of these assessments and evaluations by the entire clinical team are utilized to develop the customized Treatment Plan, which the client will follow, while he/she is in treatment with us. The Case Manager manages and edits this plan, as needed, on a weekly basis, to ensure that goals and benchmarks are being met.

Discharge Treatment Plan

Prior to discharge, the clinical team develops a comprehensive post-treatment Discharge Plan, which will be the blueprint for the client to follow upon re-entry to her/his normal life. This plan includes numerous resources for outpatient services, accountability relationships, step meetings, and other resources that will ensure continued sobriety and success for the client.
